Almost 15 years ago, we put hard-to-get epicurean items right on the shelf of a cozy corner store in Hoboken, and nothing has been the same since.
Anthony David's Gourmet Market became a hit for the local clientele, and a
haven for those seeking gourmet foods.
From barrels housing coffee beans from all over the world, to a dozen varieties of olives, the market came to be known as '"the place" to get fine foods.
Co-owners Chef Anthony Pino and his wife and business partner, Liz Pino, have guided the market from its inception through many changes. First, they added a small case where Chef Pino could showcase his highly delectable prepared foods. Then they added tables and began offering what is still regarded by many (including Zagat's) as the best brunch in Hoboken. The Market started opening for dinners, and food-lovers near and far took notice. Then we introduced Cheeses from all over the world in a refrigerated case.
Today, the Gourmet Market is a burgeoning business, with all of the original charm retained for good measure. Chef Pino prepares wonderful daily selections of items to go, including homemade soups, sandwiches, pastas and Italian specialties. In addition, there is an extensive cheese list.
Of course, the Market paved the way for our two other businesses, The Dining Room at Anthony David's and AD Catering and Events.
